Brushstroke Flower & Retro Flower Punch

Stempelet "Brushstroke Flower" fra stempelsamlingen "Grunge Collection" er kjempefint å bruke sammen med Retro Flower Punch fra EK Success. Når du har stemplet opp og punchet ut en del blomster, kan du fargelegge dem videre på ulike måter med f.eks blekk, kritt eller Twinkling H2O's.

"Brushstroke Flower"; one of the rubber stamps from the "Grunge Collection", is great to punch out using EK Success' Retro Flower Punches. After stamping some flowers, and punching them out, you can add some more color, using ink, chalks or Twinkling H2O's.

Først stempler du opp blomster. Du kan bruke vanlig blekk, eller du kan bruke vannbaserte tusjer (Marvy Le Plume) slik jeg har gjort her. Bruk flere farger for å få en fin effekt, start med å påføre den lyseste fargen først, og avslutt med den mørkeste. Hvis du tusjer raskt, trenger du ikke ta på vann før du trykker stempelet mot papiret. Dersom du likevel ønsker å bruke vann, for at fargene skal flyte litt i hverandre, anbefaler jeg at du ikke sprayer direkte på stempelet, men ut i lufta først og så drar stempelet raskt igjennom. (Hvis man bruker for mye vann, blir trykket utydelig.)

First you stamp some flowers. You can use ink, or markers (Marvy Le Plume). Use two or three different colors to get a nice effect. Always apply the lightest color first, and apply the darkest color last. Just color in the stamp, using the markers and stamp the image onto paper or cardstock. If you like the watercolor effect, you can spray a fine mist of water up in the air and bring the stamp into the mist. This works much better than spraying directly onto the stamp.

Jeg har brukt en EK Success Retro Flower Punch. Før du skal punche ut blomsten, må du klippe ut blomsten, pass på at du har nok plass på arket rundt blomsten. Klipp først ut en firkant rundt (ca 8 cm x 8 cm for den største punchen) så klipper du av hvert hjørne slik bildet viser. Dette er for at du skal kunne snu blomsten rundt alle veier når du skal plassere arket i punchen.

I used an EK Success Retro Flower Punch to punch out the flowers. Cut out a square shape around the stamp image (approx.3" x 3") and then cut off the corners (as you see on the picture) so that you can position the stamp image correctly before punching it out.

Snu Punchen opp ned for å plassere blomsten riktig før du stanser den ut.

Turn the punch upside down so that you can see where to place the stamp image before punching it out.

Mange "Brushstroke-blomster" :) De kan brukes som de er, eller de kan fargelegges videre.

Lots of "Brushstroke Flowers" :) At this point you can attach them to your card or scrapbooking layout, or you can add some more color first.

Her har jeg brukt svamp og VersaColor Atlantic for å fargelegge kronbladene, til slutt har jeg svertet kantene med VersaMagic Jumbo Java.

For this flower I applied VersaColor Atlantic Pigment Ink onto the petals using a sponge, and then I distressed the edges using VersaMagic Jumbo Java Chalk Ink.

Denne blomsten er fargelagt med VersaColor Baby Blue, påført med svamp. Til slutt brukte jeg Liquid pearls Lemon Yellow langs kanten.

For this flower, I have used VersaColor Baby Blue Pigment Ink (applied with a sponge). Add Liquid Pearls Lemon Yellow along the edge as a finishing touch.

Her har jeg brukt skimmer-kritt på kronbladene, og Twinkling H2O's langs kanten.

For this flower I used pearlescent chalks for the petals and Twinkling H2O's along the edges.

De siste blomstene her er malt med Twinkling H2O's på kronbladene, og kantet med Distress Ink Broke China. Ha en fin helg!

Maribel Rubber Stamp - Coloring Tutorial

This tutorial shows you how to color in the Maribel stamp image. Click on any image to see a larger version. I hope you'll enjoy it :)

Supplies:

Stempelglede Maribel Rubber Stamp
Acrylic Blocks
Ranger Archival Ink I recommend using this ink because I think it gives the best result, however you can also use StazOn (just make sure the ink pad isn't too wet).
Glossy White Cardstock (Regular cardstock does not work well with this highly detailed stamp.)
Various Colors of Ink (Adirondack Stonewashed, Color Box Chestnut & Brown, VersaCraft Brick, VersaColor Cyan, VersaMagic Gingerbread, Distress Ink Broken China & Walnut Stain.)
A Waterbrush
Sponges Use a very fine sponge cut into small pieces. (I actually use a piece of foam mattress! It's the greatest "sponge" to use as it makes it easy to add just a little color.) By the way, I think cosmetic sponges are not the best choice for coloring on glossy paper.

Step By Step:

Stamp the image onto glossy white card stock using Ranger Archival Ink. Don't press the stamp too hard, otherwise the image will get too dark and you'll get spots all over the light areas ( like this). You need to be very careful to avoid moving the stamp and smudging the image. Stamp straight down (hold it there for about 5-10 seconds), lift straight up (and hold your paper down while lifting). Let dry for at least 20 minutes.

Apply ink to the acrylic block. Use the water brush to pick up a small amount of color. Don’t get too much water on your brush, or your paper will start bubbling. Color in the blouse and the hair accessories.

Use a tiny amount of ink on sponges (be careful not to use too much ink). Keep adding color to the image. Color in the lips using the water brush.

Cut out the image & keep adding color to the image.

Use a tiny amount of ink (I have used VersaCraft Brick) on a small piece of sponge and add some color to the cheek. Be careful not to add too much color. Use the Ranger Distress Ink (Walnut Stain) Pad directly onto the edges of the paper. Let dry.

I ended up adding a little bit more red to the cheek to match the vibrant red flower.

Fargelegging av fotostempel

Her vil jeg vise hvordan man kan bruke svamp & blekk til å fargelegge fotostempler. Det er viktig å bruke en god svamp med minst mulig struktur. Jeg har kjøpt mine i en butikk som selger madrasser "i løs vekt", dvs. du kan kjøpe en liten bit madrass med fin struktur/lite huller og du slipper å kjøpe en hel madrass...Jeg har prøvd sminkesvamper, men det er ikke å anbefale! Jeg liker heller ikke natursvamper eller andre svamper med store hull. En bit madrass er absolutt best!

Begynn med den lyseste fargen. Prøv på et kladdeark først, slik at du kan se hvor mye du vil ha på.

Så fortsetter du med mørkere farger, men lag jevne overganger.

Bruk vannpensel og mal perlene i håret + bruk en lys brunfarge og mal forsiktig inni øynene.

Bruk svamp og fargelegg bakgrunnen, gjerne i to ulike farger slik jeg har gjort her.

Til slutt har jeg hatt på litt mørkere blekk langs kantene, + at jeg har dempet fargen på blusen/toppen ved å forsiktig ha på litt brunt blekk (sepia) oppå.
